But don’t just take our word for it. Hear from our colleagues who have experienced the transformative power of apprenticeships and careers with Alvance British Aluminium.
Meet James Tangney
Meet Claire Neil, our former modern apprentice and now HSE Specialist

“An apprenticeship was something I never considered in school due to thinking it was not for someone like me, but there are so many options for apprenticeships for various careers, many you maybe haven’t considered for yourself. You will go through loads of changes figuring out what you want to do in life and for me an apprenticeship was a great way to start that journey.” Read more about Claire here.
Meet Justine Walker our former graduate apprentice and now Commercial Manager

“An apprenticeship is a great way to get a qualification alongside gaining valuable practical experience which employers look for. Apprenticeships lead to a better salary in the long run.” Read more about Justine here.
Meet Tom Baillie

“After leaving school and securing an apprenticeship at Alvance British Aluminium, I then spent four years training both at college and on-site finishing with an SVQ3 in Mechanical Maintenance and a HNC in Engineering Systems. I was then offered a job as a Mechanical Craftsman where I worked ‘on the tools’ for two years. During that time Alvance BA have supported me through a day release degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering which I achieved shortly after successfully applying for an internal job as a Project Engineer. After two years as a Project Engineer, I was offered a role as Lead Project Engineer. I have now progressed to Lead Mechanical Engineer.”
Meet Peter Dodds

“I would highly recommend an apprenticeship; it is a great opportunity to learn through hands-on experience while learning the theory in a learning environment. Learning from people who already do the work is the best way to learn new skills and develop yourself.” Read more about Peter here.
