Highlights from the Scottish Six Days Trial

Lochaber once again welcomed riders and fans from across the globe for the legendary Scottish Six Days Trial ( 05-10 MAY) – one of Scotland’s most iconic sporting events.

Alvance British Aluminium are proud to support the SSDT alongside our sister company, JAHAMA Highland Estates, as our land hosts much of the trial route. It’s a brilliant example of how responsible land management and outdoor sport can work together. Parts of the trial are only permitted for this special event due to parts of it being on Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which is a conservation designation in the UK, meaning it’s an area of land or water considered particularly valuable for its wildlife and geology.

To hear more about our work behind the scenes, tune into a recent interview on Nevis Radio with Jonathan Hart, Liaison Manager at JAHAMA Highland Estates. Jonathan shares what goes into preparing for an event of this scale from a land management and community perspective – and even squeezed in a music request for anything to be played by “The Boss.” John Weller and Simon Abberley obliged with Born to Run, and fun fact: Jonathan was actually at Wembley in 1983 to see Bruce Springsteen live singing this!

Catch Jonathan’s interview at 2:16–2:21 and 2:30–2:43.

The photos here capture moments from the Wednesday leg of the trial – with some remarkable scenery, but of course we may be bias.

Additionally, as part of our second cinema campaign with AEON Creative to feature at Highland Cinema, we were delighted to film some of the action. This next advert aims to highlight all the incredible things happening in our area – both on and off the clock – and we can’t wait to see to show it up on the big screens again.

Events like this are a real boost connecting families and people from all over the world, great for our local economy and a reminder of the strong community we’re lucky to be part of. It was fantastic to see so many people out enjoying the landscape we work hard to protect.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful and memorable SSDT. We are looking forward to the SSDT 2026 already!
