Established in 1929, Alvance British Aluminium has been a prominent employer in Lochaber for many years. Electrical Craftsperson (Maintenance)
We have a new vacancy for an Electrical Craftsperson Maintenance to be responsible for supporting production and the continued running of the plant, by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks, in a compliant and safe manner.
Shift pattern:
- 3 days on, 2 days off, 3 nights on, 7 days off or
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime paid
- On-call aspect of the job

Lead Department Engineer (Maintenance)
As we develop our Maintenance team, we have a great new opportunity for an experienced engineer to join us as Lead Department Engineer. This role offers the chance to build on your technical and leadership experience, develop others and help shape how maintenance is delivered across the site.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will manage and support our Department Engineers, coordinating priorities and resources to deliver safe and effective maintenance. Working closely with Operations, you will connect day-to-day maintenance delivery with our longer-term goals for reliability and continuous improvement.

Welding and Fabrication Technician
We’re looking for a Welding and Fabrication Technician to join our team at the Lochaber site.
Reporting to the Welding Team Leader, the successful candidate will join a small team responsible for carrying out pin repairs within our site facility. The role will also involve supporting welding and fabrication work across the wider site when required.
This is a new position and a good opportunity for someone with practical welding and fabrication experience to join our team.

Power Station Maintenance Operator
We have an exciting new vacancy within our Power Station as we are looking for our next Maintenance Operator.
Reporting to the Power Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and continued running of the plant. You will support the Power and Hydro Department by carrying out reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks. You will have a proactive approach to upgrading/improving plant and machinery. You will be able to complete all requirements in a professional, timely, and efficient manner.

Two Graduate Vacancies: Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering
We are looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer within our Power & Hydro team and a Graduate Mechanical Engineer within our Maintenance team.
Both graduates will gain hands-on engineering experience, working alongside experienced engineers and operational teams.
The Electrical Graduate will be based within Power & Hydro, supporting our hydro generation, high-voltage distribution and power conversion assets.
The Mechanical Graduate will join our Maintenance team, supporting plant maintenance, reliability and engineering projects across the smelter complex.
