Established in 1929, Alvance British Aluminium has been a prominent employer in Lochaber for many years. Power Plant Controller

We are looking for a Power Plant Controller to play a key role in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our power station. This is a critical position responsible for monitoring and controlling power generation activities, ensuring compliance with operational requirements, and supporting the continuous performance of the plant.

Working closely with operational teams, technical specialists and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will help maintain the high standards expected within a major industrial operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled team at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant integrated industrial sites.

Shift Pattern: 3 days on, 2 days off, 3 nights on, 7 days off

Lochaber Power House

Environmental Specialist

We have an exciting new vacancy within our HSEQ department as we are looking for a new Environmental Specialist to join the team. The role supports the business in maintaining compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licences, authorisations and management system requirements.

Providing technical environmental advice and support across site, including environmental monitoring, data analysis, regulatory submissions, environmental improvement projects, incident investigation, audit and inspection activity.

The post holder will help drive continual improvement in environmental performance, supporting compliance with ISO 14001, ASI requirements, site permits and wider sustainability objectives.

While experience in the environmental sector is desirable, full training and development can be considered for the right candidate. We welcome applications from individuals who have relevant transferable skills, a strong interest in the environmental field, and a genuine enthusiasm for developing their expertise in this specialist area.

Financial Controller

  • Salary – Competitive
  • Relocation package up to £8,000, including temporary rent assistance and bonus salary.

Hours of Work

  • Monday – Thursday – 7:30am – 4pm (or up to 8:30 -17:00)
  • Friday – 7:30am – 12:30pm

Role Objective

  • Financial management and reporting
  • Cash management and reporting for all Lochaber based entities
  • Instill and lead a culture of continual improvement and development
  • Prepare annual budget and forecasts
  • Manage the Lochaber transactional finance team
  • Main point of contact for auditors

Maintenance Craftsperson – Electrical

The Maintenance Electrical Craftsperson will be responsible for supporting production and the continued running of the plant by carrying out Reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks in a compliant and safe manner.

Day shift – Monday to Friday
41.5h  week.
1 week in five on call
Overtime paid
