£215000 Investment Powers Furnace Improvements at Fort William
A major upgrade has just been completed on our No.4 Holding Furnace in the Casting Shop which forms part of a wider programme of investment of £215,000 in our Fort William site.
This follows the full £600,000 refractory rebuild of our No.6 Furnace in 2023, where TAB Refractory Construction & Maintenance Co. LTD, part of Pyrotek, also led the work.
The recent works on No.4 included a full relining of the roof, upgrades to the door jambs and lintel blocks for improved sealing and replacement of key steelwork – followed by final spray repairs and a controlled bake-out procedure by TAB.
These furnace investments are essential for keeping our site running efficiently and reliably, and they highlight our continued focus on operational excellence and long-term performance in the future of aluminium production at Fort William.
