Lochaber businesses triumph at SCDI Awards
ALVANCE British Aluminium are absolutely thrilled to receive the prestigious trophy on 14 September 2023 for ‘The Stromar Wind Award for Excellence in Natural Capital for Climate Change & Sustainable Communities’ at the Scottish Council for Development & Industry (SCDI) Highlands & Islands Business Excellence Awards at the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness.
The evening was not just a celebration of our natural capital initiatives, but also a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team at both the smelter and our sister company JAHAMA Highland Estates, as well as successful collaborations we’ve had with stakeholders. Together, we have demonstrated the importance of collaboration when facing the challenges of climate change.
Since 1929, we have been leading the way in operating with renewable power, to being one of the lowest carbon footprint aluminium manufacturing sites in the world. Our unwavering commitment to the environment continues to grow stronger, and we are excited about the future and the opportunities it holds for us to limit our impact on the environment and drive positive change.
We were incredibly proud to be in the company of inspiring individuals at the awards, and we would like to extend our congratulations to Alasdair Ferguson of Ferguson Transport & Shipping & Kishorn Port Ltd for winning the Alvance British Aluminium Award for ‘Outstanding Business Leader’. Alasdair’s vision, resilience, and strategic thinking truly stood out, and we share the common value of family at the core of everything we do.
Together, we will continue to celebrate successes and make a positive impact for Lochaber and beyond.
