Alvance Support Helps Street League Continue to Grow
The hugely successful Fort William Street League has once again brought together young players from across Lochaber to enjoy shinty during the summer months. Open to all primary school aged children, the league continues to play an important role in encouraging the next generation into the sport.
Alvance British Aluminium has supported the Street League for a number of years and is committed to a long-term sponsorship agreement. This year every participant was able to take home a ball branded with the Alvance name, something we hope will be a useful reminder of their time in the competition. The sponsorship has helped the organisers plan with confidence and grow the league.
We also want to recognise our colleagues who give their own time to support shinty locally. Among them is our Business Development Manager, James Tangney, and Metal Production Manager, Graeme Paterson, who features in this year’s photographs. With the support of volunteers like them, shinty remains an active and valued part of life in Lochaber.
