A Record Year for Apprentices and Learning at Alvance British Aluminium
This year marks a milestone at Alvance British Aluminium, with the highest number of apprentices we’ve had on site to date.
Not every career follows the same route, that’s why we continue to invest in learning and development at every level of the organisation.
Currently, we’re supporting:
🔧10 Modern Engineering Apprentices with a mixture of electrical and mechanical bias (including 3 who joined us in 2025)
🎓 2 Graduate Apprentices (1x electrical engineering & 1x business management)
📚2 studying towards degrees (1x electrical engineering & 1x business management)
💼1 studying towards CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice
💻1 studying for a Diploma in Digital Marketing SCQF Level 6
📁 3 completing SCQF Level 8 in Project Management
🎓 3 working towards master’s degrees (1 x MBA, 1x MSc in Process Safety & 1x Maintenance Engineering and Asset Management)

In 2024 alone, more than £102,000 has been invested in external training, supporting 227 people across 965 hours – not including internal sessions delivered on site with our Accredited Instructors.
We almost managed to get everyone in this photo with some of our colleagues missing, but it’s a great snapshot of the talent and potential coming through.
✅ Practical support
