£300,000 Upgrade Delivers Cleaner Air in B2 Building

At Alvance British Aluminium we have taken another step forward in reducing workplace emissions with the installation of a new extraction system in our B2 Building.
This £300,000 project has been has been delivered in partnership with RCS – Specialised LEV Engineers, who designed, supplied and installed the system. RCS know our operations well, having previously installed three extraction units in our Rodding Department.
Built to Best Available Technique (BAT) standards, the system has already achieved an average of less than 0.5 mg/m³ – well below our permitted emissions limit of 10 mg/m³.
The unit is powered by smart technology automatically identifying which workstation is in use and directs extraction to that area by opening and closing dampers, ensuring efficiency and lower energy use.
This investment supports a safer, cleaner working environment and reinforces our commitment to operating responsibly.
