Maintenance Craftsperson – Electrical
An opportunity has arisen for two qualified Electrical Maintenance Craftsperson to support production and the continued running of the plant.

Established since 1929, ALVANCE British Aluminium, part of the GFG Alliance, owns and operates the last remaining aluminium production plant (smelter) in the UK and a connected hydropower electricity generation station located on the slopes of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. A combination or renewable energy sources makes this site one of the greenest metal production plants in the country
Roles and Responsibilities
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Complete all necessary maintenance and handover activities to agreed timescales.
- Follow written isolation procedures involving multiple points of isolation to control hazardous energy.
- Diagnose and fault find electrical equipment failures.
- Maintain a working environment that has a high standard of housekeeping.
- Work in a safe manner, avoid taking unnecessary risks and avoid improvisation which entails risk.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately to their manager.
- Give clear instructions which incorporate safety aspects and ensure they are adhered to.

Requirements
Essential
- Time served electrician.
- Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Skilled in the hands-on repair of all plant and equipment, have an ability to fault find, read electrical drawings, diagnose and repair using their technical knowledge on equipment.
- Able to demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving using a logical approach, good understanding of health and safety ad-hoc regulations.
- Must be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication.

- Basic salary: £35,497 p.a.
- Shift allowance: £6,397 p.a.
- The opportunity to work guaranteed overtime, min payment £3,198 p.a.
- Our shift team work an average of twelve, 12.25 hour shifts per month
